March 13, 2026 – Together with UNI Financial Cooperation, the nine hospital foundations in Northern New Brunswick are proud to announce that the latest edition of the The Northern Star campaign raised an exceptional $202,283. All proceeds are donated to the participating foundations to support the improvement of healthcare and services in their respective communities.
This record-breaking edition once again demonstrates the power of solidarity and the generosity of the people in the North. Thanks to the commitment of donors, volunteers, and partners, theÉtoile du Nord continues to brighten hospitals and the hearts of patients year after year.
Every lit tree represents a gesture of love and support for our healthcare system. This campaign is a testament to the power of the collective: when we unite, we can accomplish great things. Let us be proud to participate and contribute to the success of this wonderful initiative.
“The Étoile du Nord is, above all, a story of solidarity. For several years, it has brought nine foundations together around a single goal: to provide our population with quality care, right here at home. It is a model of unity that is the strength and pride of our region,” says Dr. Marilyne Bossé, president of Étoile du Nord – Chaleur Region.
The nine participating foundations are:
- Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation (Bathurst)
- Enfant-Jésus Hospital Foundation (Caraquet)
- Grand Falls General Hospital Friends Foundation (Grand Falls)
- Edmundston Regional Hospital Foundation (Edmundston)
- Lamèque Hospital and CSC Foundation (Lamèque)
- Friends of Healthcare Foundation (Campbellton)
- Dr. Romaric Boulay Foundation (Saint-Quentin)
- Friends of Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital Foundation (Sainte-Anne-de-Kent)
- Friends of Tracadie Hospital Foundation (Tracadie)
The traditional tree lighting ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in front of the participating hospitals. Many decorated and illuminated trees symbolized light, solidarity, and the hope of the people of the North.
With this new edition, the North Star has now surpassed the $1,935,000 mark raised since 2006. These donations directly help improve access to quality healthcare, right close to home.
